Keeping track of what I read...

Fiction:

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - finally.

Nonfiction:

How I Killed Pluto, and Why it Had it Coming - best jacket blurb from Neil DeGrasse Tyson, saying he was going to forward all the hate mail he got from elementary-school children to this author.

Youth:

Into the Wild Nerd Yonder, by Julie Halpern
Agent Q or the Smell of Danger, a Pals in Peril tale by M. T. Anderson - how I love this series.

I laughed so hard when I saw the Pluto bookjacket. Didn't actually read it, though.

It's pretty interesting, although I think he could have done the same thing in less space. No pun intended. :)

NDT cracked me up on Colbert this week.
Colbert: "Why did you get here so fast?"
Tyson: (looking innocent and offended) "I have a wormhole!"

What did you think of the Dragon Tatoo book? I've been avoiding it like the plague because it's been so in my face everywhere I go. I was thinking maybe it suffered from Eat, Pray, Love and Da Vinci Code Syndrome.

NDT is awesome! Someday I will have enough budget to have him come to my library for a program. Well, probably not. But I can dream. :)

I liked the character of Lisbeth Salander, but ultimately didn't like the book as a whole. I can't really say why because the reason is tied up in the plot, and it would be giving a lot away. Just say it's a personal preference and if I had known the plot was going to twist that way I wouldn't have read the book.

I've heard that. And I've heard that the main male character is not very likable.

I think I'll continue to bypass it. More and more, books or movies that get a huge amount of attention turn out to be "meh" to me. (Exception: the movie Precious.)

I feel the same exact way about that book. I was actually kind of annoyed.
