Progress!

Christmas cards halfway done.

Two different kinds of cookie dough in freezer. (Neither of them are chocolate chip. HtB has asked me not to make chocolate chip, even the dough, until he loses some more weight, because the temptation would be too great.)

And, since today was a work day for me, and the wonderful HtB helped a LOT:

Posters put up at community center for grand opening. I used every "READ" poster we had at the library and made two different trips to Hobby Lobby for those super-cheap bad plastic frames. I take it back. I used Pat Mora, Tish Hinojosa, Ricky Williams, and Chuck Norris. I didn't use Laura Bush. Then I raided the children's room closet for old summer reading program posters and put them up. I still need, by my estimation, four or five more posters. There are a LOT of blank walls in that place.

ESL posters taken down from community center hallway, where they were stuck directly to the wall with tape. Big new bulletin board put up and decorated. ESL posters put back up on big new bulletin board. It looks much better, but I hope they will think, "Oh look! Someone gave us a bulletin board!" and not "Hey! Someone messed with our stuff!"

It turns out it's also past time for me to change my weight goal on Livestrong.com from "lose a pound a week" to "maintain my current weight." This seems like a crazy amount of food after nearly a year of trying to lose a pound a week. (Needless to say, I didn't always succeed. I have not lost 52 pounds.) Surely I will get used to eating this much again. It's not like I had any trouble with it before. :)

♥ !!!!

Weight loss of any sort is a victory, IMO!!!!

And randomly, when you're freezing your cookie dough, what kind of container do you put it in? Just regular tupperware, etc? I need to mix some up and put soem together as I've got a cookie exchange coming up in a week-ish and need to get my butt in GEAR.

♥!!!! :D

I made thumbprint dough and peanut butter truffles. The thumbprint dough I made up to the thumbprint stage, put the individual cookies on a pyrex dish (the directions said a cookie sheet, but who can fit a cookie sheet in their freezer? not me), froze them, and then put them in a ziplock bag.

The truffles I made into balls and put the balls on a pyrex dish and froze them that way. I have to go back and dip them in their coating and re-freeze them, and then I can bag them up.

The rest of the stuff I'm making is all slice-and bake cookies, so I can just roll the dough into a cylinder and wrap it in foil.

BTW, the truffles are super easy - a 7 oz jar of marshmallow fluff, a cup of peanut butter, and a cup of some ratio of powdered sugar to powdered milk. (The recipe says a whole cup of powdered sugar, but that would be crazy sweet.) You microwave the fluff and peanut butter for 30 seconds, stir it together, and add 2 tablespoons of Karo syrup and the powdered stuff. Then you add 3/4 cup of salted chopped nuts. Make it into balls and coat them with melted chocolate chips, vanilla candy wafers, or whatever. Yummo!

I don't remember the last time we even did Christmas cards, and it's most likely not happening this year either . . .

Not much at baking either. The cookies I made last year were EPIC FAIL. What was sad was, I've been making them for around 20 years with no issues, lol.

I can't imagine anyone not being happy about a free bulletin board. :)

Yay for weight loss! Unfortunately, with my whole parental drama, I gained back half of what I lost, but hopefully I'll lose it again.

You've got enough stuff going on! Your goal for Christmas should be relax. :)

And I totally believe you'll lose the weight again. It's not easy when things are stressful, but see "relax" above. :)

As far as baking, that's what these (http://www.immaculatebaking.com/) are for. The only thing better than their cookies is their biscuits... yummo!
